Algeria’s food imports showed a 59 percent increase during the first half of 2011, pushed up mainly by the import of cereals, semolina and flours, which recorded a 99.61 percent rise, moving from US$1.02 bn during the first six months of 210 up to US$2.04 bn during the same period in 2011, said Sunday Algerian Customs’ Data Processing and Statistics Centre (CNIS).
