The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) gained 5.3 billion pounds at early trading Monday backed by purchase operations by Arab and local investors.
The EGX 30 benchmark index went up 2.98 percent to reach 5,931.68 points.
The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) increased by 2.11 percent to reach 388.32 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index rose by 1.78 percent to hit 692.66 points.
