The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) gained 2.6 billion pounds at the end of Thursday's trading on the back of purchase operations by local investors.
The EGX 30 benchmark index went up 0.64 percent to close at 6,812.65 points.
The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) increased by 1.11 percent to reach 371.63 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index rose by 1.44 percent to hit 769.6 points.
