Chinese stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.22%, at 3,149.55 points. 
The smaller Shenzhen index closed 0.37% higher at 9,977.96 points. 
The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, rose 0.51% to close at 1,870.7 points.
