Stockholm - XINHUA
American fast food chain KFC, formerly known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is scheduled to open in Stockholm this year after 30 years' departure, The Local news network reported on Wednesday. The first KFC eatery will be opened in Stockholm this year, the report said, quoting Swedish franchise group Nordic Service Partners (NSP), which obtained franchising rights for KFC in Sweden. NSP CEO Morgan Jallinder said that chicken was popular in Swedish diet, and the upcoming KFC would meet the gap as currently "there's no restaurant concept that focus solely on chicken." In 1981, KFC once opened in central Stockholm, but was later closed. NSP, the largest Burger King franchise-owner in the Nordic region, said it plans to open five to six new KFCs in Sweden each year.
