Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) is the proud winner of the 2014 Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The award comes as a testimony to the company’s commitment and efforts taken towards ensuring workplace safety.
The RoSPA is a UK based organisation whose safety awards recognise health and safety success for over 50 years. This key fixture in the health and safety calendar offers organisations with a prime opportunity to prove their ongoing commitment to maintaining and raising health and safety standards.
Commenting on winning the 2014 Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety by RoSPA, Alba’s Chief Financial Officer, Ali Al Baqali said:
"Alba is truly honoured to receive this global accolade from the RoSPA, which clearly indicates that our safety efforts are being recognised internationally. Employee safety and health will always be our top priority; we remain committed to work towards achieving global safety and standards for the benefit of our employees."
RoSPA’s Awards Manager David Rawlins said: "The RoSPA Awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C, contribute to a collective raising of the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations."
Alba has consistently maintained a high track record of safety, health and environment, and over the years, it has won numerous accolades -- the United Nations Environment Programme Award, the Safety Award from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC Award for the Best Environmental Activities by an Industrial Establishment.
