The U.S. jobless rate fell to 5.8 percent in October, dropping below 6 percent for the first time in six years, the Labor Department reported in its monthly jobs report on Friday.
The U.S. economy, on average, has been adding well over 200,000 jobs a month in 2014, and nearly 2.3 million jobs have been added so far this year. U.S. employers added 214,000 jobs in October, the report said.
