UAE Embassy oversees signing of US$7 million Ducab deal

The Dubai Cable Company, Ducab, has signed an agreement with the Electricity Distribution Company, EDCO, in Jordan. The deal was signed under the patronage of the UAE Embassy in Amman.

The agreement stipulates that Ducab would supply the Jordanian company with medium and low-pressure electric cables for two years at the cost of US$7 million.

The signing took place during a press conference organised by the embassy in the presence of Mohammed Al Qurashi, General Manager of Government Affairs at Ducab, Affaneh Nemer Affaneh, Representative of Ducab in Jordan, and Hassan Al Zonaybat, Director-General of EDCO.

In a statement to the press following the signing, Al Zonaybat said that the signing took place within the framework of a tender issued by EDCO, which it decided to refer to Ducab, who had presented an excellent offer regarding quality and price.

The EDCO Director-General highlighted the fact that the ongoing cooperation between private sector companies in Jordan and the UAE was part of the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.

Affaneh Nemer emphasised that Ducab would provide EDCO with medium- and low-pressure electric cables for two years, subject to extension, and the company would rely on Ducab’s international expertise for the provision of high-pressure cables up to 400 kilovolts, as well as medium- and low-pressure cables.

The signing event was attended by Faisal Ahmed Al Malik, Charge d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Amman, and Samir Murad, Chairman of EDCO in Jordan, and several officials
