Commercial exchanges between South Korea and the State of Kuwait have reached up to USD 22 billion per annum, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the nation said.
Cooperation in the oil field between Kuwait and South Korea have noticeably developed, said Ambassador Jassem Al-Bedaiwi, in remarks to KUNA, made in the aftermath of the 17th Asian Games or ASIAD, with China coming first, 342 medals, and Kuwait grabbing 12 ones including three gold.
The South Korean-Kuwaiti commercial relations have turned distinctive with the trade exchanges amounting to USD 22 billion per year, the ambassador added, noting that the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission would seek to further expand scopes of the mutual cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The Kuwaiti Embassy is exerting efforts to develop these ties at the health and educational levels, making use of South Korean internationally-renowned expertise in such sectors, added Al-Bedaiwi, who also indicated that the diplomatic staff had been involved in preparing for the Kuwaiti sports delegation visit, with aim of examining the local expertise in this realm too.
He affirmed that the bilateral relations between the two countries have noticeably improved since their establishment in 1979, due to keenness of Korean and Kuwaiti leaders on cementing "the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two governments and peoples." Ambassador Al-Bedaiwi praised the South Korean authorities for the top-level organization of the Asian games, noting the highly advanced sports infrastructures, installations, competent human resources and logistical equipment.
