Singapore manufacturing output

Singapore's manufacturing output in the month of July rose by 3.3 percent year on year, boosted by a spike in the biomedical sector, the Economic Development Board said on Tuesday.
On a year-on-year basis, biomedical manufacturing output increased by 28.5 percent in July.
Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output decreased by 2.2 percent year on year.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, manufacturing output rose 2.7 percent, but declined 0.8 percent when biomedical manufacturing was excluded.
Output for the electronics cluster fell 2.9 percent year-on- year.
Output for the transport engineering cluster fell 9.9 percent, dragged down by the marine and offshore engineering segment and the aerospace segment.
The manufacturing sectors currently account for about 20 percent of Singapore's economic output. Its weakness over the last several months led to a relatively slow growth for the Singapore economy.
