The official gazette published on Thursday a presidential decree approving a 500-million-dollar loan agreement for the Upper Egypt Local Development Program.

The agreement was signed by the Egyptian government and the World Bank on October 6, 2016. The House of Representatives approved the agreement during its session on January 23, 2017.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi also issued Decree no. 224 of 2017 to consider a project establishing a sewer pumping station in Alexandria's El Amariya as a public utility.
