The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has denied that a Danish container ship was exposed to sinking after water leaked inside it due to a propeller malfunction. Sources said that the Danish container ship Emma Maersk (carrying 171 tonnes) suffered a malfunction in the propeller during its passage through the Suez Canal, within the north convoy coming from the Mediterranean Sea on its way to the Red Sea. The vessel was towed to the eastern port for repairs, with sources adding that traffic is now running smoothly after the first north convoy entered the port in the "normal and regular way."
