Ge Yuqiao, manager of ZTE Malaysia branch

“Malaysian market is more of huge opportunities to the Chinese companies like ZTE than challenges,” Ge Yuqiao, manager of ZTE Malaysia branch, told Xinhua lately.
As a relatively high-end market in SE Asia, the ZTE’s clients and employees in Malaysia are all of high quality, and therefore impose higher requirement on it in terms of its organization and coordination, public relations and after-sale protection, Ge said.
Malaysia Telecom Company is ZTE’s biggest customer and Digi, the third biggest local mobile carrier, buys all its wireless devices from ZTE, Ge said, adding his company’s annual revenue in the country stands at some 200 million dollars.
Speaking of its future development strategy, Ge said, ZTE is currently making the transition from being an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) company to a Mobile Information and Communication Technology (MICT) company.
“We aim to focus more on customer experiences and adjust the criteria of assessment from technological content to user perception,” Ge said.
