Russian President Vladimir Putin and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde had a telephone conversation on Thursday to discuss issues of international assistance in overcoming the profound financial and economic crisis in Ukraine, the Kremlin press service said, according to ITAR TASS.
"Putin and Lagarde discussed issues of international cooperation in overcoming a severe financial and economic crisis in Ukraine and in this context possible steps of the International Monetary Fund over Kiev leader’s request to adopt a new long-term loan program,” the press service said.
