Japan's business investment up 7.4%

Business investment of Japanese firms increased 7.4 percent from a year earlier in the first quarter of 2014, said the Japanese government Monday.
The capital spending by all nonfinancial sectors for purposes such as building plants and introducing new equipment totally came into 12.23 trillion yen (about 120.27 billion U.S. dollars), said Japan's Finance Ministry.
The data would affect revisions to the country's economic growth figures, with the Cabinet Office set to release revised gross domestic product data for the same period on June 9.
