Japan imported 25.278 million barrels of crude oil from the UAE in September 2017, according to data released by the Agency of Energy and Natural Resource in Tokyo.
This accounts for 26.6 percent of Japan's total crude imports, the agency, working under the remit of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, explained.
Saudi Arabia provided 35.376 million barrels, or 37.2 percent of the total, while Kuwait, Qatar, Iran and Russia, provided 8.7 percent, 7.2 percent, 6.8 percent and 2.3 percent respectively.
Arab oil accounted for 78.269 barrels or 82.3 percent, of Japan’s petroleum needs in September, when Japan’s total crude oil imports in that month amounted to 95.115 million barrels, the agency said.
