Indonesia has asked Germany to enable better access
for Indonesian products and official representatives, Foreign
Minister Retno Marsudi said Monday, according to dpa.
Indonesia wanted "easier access" for domestically made goods because
we have "considerable commodity exports to Germany," she said after
talks with visiting German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Jakarta had also asked for officials holding diplomatic passports to
be allowed to enter Germany without visas. "This would be a good
gesture for better bilateral relations between Indonesia and
Germany," she said.
Germany is one of Indonesia's largest trading partners,
with trade reaching 7.3 billion dollars in 2013.
Marsudi said the two countries agreed to cooperate in the maritime
sector, including in seaport construction and ship-building.
"There are various sectors in which cooperation can be strengthened,
for example the maritime sector," Steinmeier said.
