Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos arrived in Washington Monday for crucial meetings with US officials and the IMF, which is expected to support a second bailout for the country. Venizelos will meet with International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde, who has yet to commit to adding Fund money to the 159-billion-euro ($229 billion) second bailout the European Union crafted for Greece last week. After the agreement reached Thursday between eurozone leaders on the new rescue plan, Lagarde -- would only say that \"the IMF will continue to play its part.\" The IMF already contributed it its largest-ever bailout loan, 30 billion euros, to the first bailout for Athens. Venizelos will also hold meetings at the US Treasury, which represents the single most powerful country, voting-wise, on the IMF board.
