Germany aimed to be the number one in digital growth in Europe in the next four years, said the digital agenda approved by the German government on Wednesday.
Network development, cyber security and the promotion of the digital economy are the central themes of the digital revolution in Germany, said the German government.
In order to move this process forward, the German government approved a digital agenda comprised of seven action fields, which covered not only the impact of digitization on the ICT sector, but almost all sectors of economy and society in Germany.
German Economic Minister Sigmar Gabriel said: "The goal is to help Germany become a leading role in the consistent, socially responsible, and reliable digitization of life, work and business."
One of the core objectives of the digital agenda is to support the development of comprehensive high-speed networks and to promote the media competence for all generations.
Meanwhile, the government aimed to strengthen the data protection and will extend the measures of German authorities to prevent cyber attacks, said the agenda.
