EU member states agreed Tuesday to a 2015 budget
compromise that will allow the bloc to spend 141.2 billion euros (179 billion dollars) next year, after settling a row with the European Parliament, dpa reported.
The decision unlocks aid for recipients as varied as poorer regions,farmers, researchers and students.
Italian Finance Minister Pier Carlo Padoan, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency, welcomed the deal.
