Minister of Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour

Minister of Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour conferred on Sunday with new French ambassador to Egypt Andre Baran on means of bolstering economic, trade cooperation and upping joint investments in the coming phase.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of boosting economic and commercial ties as well as means of removing impediments facing French investors in Cairo.
In statements following the meeting, Abdel-Nour said that the meeting tackled the available opportunities to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, trade, technology, training, human development and small and medium-scale industries.
Over the coming period, Egypt seeks to attract more French investments in the Egyptian national projects, currently under construction in Suez Canal Development Corridor and Upper Egypt's Golden Triangle, through removing all obstacles that face French investors in Egypt, he added.
The Egyptian minister briefed the French diplomat on the recent Egyptian government's efforts to revive the Egyptian economy, noting that the government is keen on restoring the confidence of the Egyptians and foreign investors in the Egyptian market.
For his part, Andre Baran stressed the depth of the bilateral ties as Egypt is an important economic partner to France in the Middle East and North Africa.
France would continue to pump more investments in Egypt although the past three-year harsh economic situation witnessed by Egypt, the French ambassador underscored.
