China agrees huge railway construction deal in Nigeria

China has agreed a 12-billion-dollar deal to build a
railway line in Nigeria, state-run media reported Thursday, dpa reported.
The planned 1,400-kilometre railway, to be built by the state firm
China Railway Construction Corp, will run from the main city of Lagos
in the west to the south-eastern port of Calabar.
It was the single biggest foreign infrastructure deal ever signed by
China, Xinhua news agency said.
China has already invested heavily in Nigeria's oil and
telecommunications sector.
