British industrial output rose in October compared with activity in September on higher production of transportation equipment, official data showed on Tuesday. Industrial output advanced 0.4 percent in October from the level in September, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said in a statement. On a 12-month comparison, industrial output -- which includes mining and quarrying, electricity, gas and water supply -- jumped 3.2 percent in October. The ONS added that manufacturing output, which excludes the above sectors, grew by 0.4 percent in October from September. The measure added 2.7 percent in October when compared with output in the same month last year.
