Ministry of Labour's Undersecretary, Sabah Salem Al-Dosari, today received External Affairs' Director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons of the United States and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed cooperation in the labour field and benefiting from leading programmes in the protection of labour, ensuring healthy working environment and developing labour legislation.
Labour Undersecretary presented a brief on the government's efforts in protecting and promoting human rights and expat workers.
He highlighted Bahrain's leading experience in the application of international labour standards, thanks to the wise directives of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government's support led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa that has come to boost Bahrain's standing as a country that promotes social dialogue.
He also briefed the delegation on Bahrain's efforts in the area of modernization and development of national legislation and regulations in light of international standards and agreements, as well as cooperation in the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to provide more measures to protect workers without discrimination.
