Economic Committee (COMEFA) opened in Oran

The second meeting of the Algerian-French Joint Economic Committee (COMEFA) opened Monday in Oran (432 km west of Algiers).
The opening session was held in the presence of Foreign Affairs Minister Ramtane Lamamra and Industry and Mining Minister Abdeslam Bouchouareb and their French counterparts Foreign Affairs and International Development Minister Laurent Fabius and Minister for the Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs Emmanuel Marcon.
The meeting, held behind closed doors, was also marked by the presence of Patrick Mennuci, president of the Algerian-French friendship group at the French National Assembly as well as Louis Bianco, President François Hollande’s special representative in charge of French-Algerian bilateral economic relations, François Girault, director of North Africa and Middle East affairs at Foreign Affairs Ministry, Jean Louis Levet, senior official for industrial and technical cooperation and his Algerian counterpart Bachir Dehimi.
COMEFA was instituted by the Declaration of Algiers, signed by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and François Hollande on 19 December 2012
It is considered as a platform of dialogue on all the bilateral economic relations.
