Major projects of infrastructures

Algeria and Italy on Thursday in Algiers signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of public works, notably the achievement of major projects and the transfer of know-how.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Public Works, Abdelkader Kadi, and Italy’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Italy Maurizio LUPI, following the Algerian-Italian Joint Commission in the field of public works.
Aiming at strengthening and promoting partnership between Algeria and Italy, the MoU covers the development of a partnership in the areas of technical studies and the enhancement of major projects of infrastructures, ports and airports.
The MoU intends to establish a cooperation which will be reflected in the exchange of experiences in the areas of construction and maintenance of infrastructures, training human resources, and the management and the exploitation of basic infrastructures.
"The Italian companies capacities of construction, which some of them are already operating in Algeria in the public works sector, are already known. Our goal then is the exchange of experiences between the Algerian companies and their Italian counterparts in this sector," Kadi told APS on the sidelines of the meeting.
For his part, the Italian minister said that “Algeria and Italy are linked by strong partnerships, which implies the need to develop and strengthen cooperation, including in the area of infrastructure."
