COMESA

The Consumer Protection Agency will host on Tuesday an African dialogue conference on consumer protection with the participation of 15 African countries.

The countries expected to attend are Botswana, Gambia, Ghana, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia.

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Federal Trade Commission, COMESA and Interpol are also participating in the conference.

A number of ambassadors will attend the inauguration of the conference as well as representatives from the government and NGOs concerned in consumer protection.

The conference aims to activate consumer protection's role in regulating African markets as well as fostering expertise exchange among African countries.
