Value of Abu Dhabi’s non-oil trade with Saudi Arabia reaches AED9.5 billion

The total of the value of the trade of non-oil goods between the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reached around AED9.5 billion during the first seven months of 2017, according to the latest statistics from the Statistics Centre-Abu Dhabi, SCAD.

This amount represents around 10 percent of Abu Dhabi’s total international trade in non-oil goods, during the period from January to July, 2017, of AED96.2 billion.

Economic experts stressed that the continuing growth in trade between Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia reflects the strong overall relationship between the UAE and Saudi Arabia on various levels, including in commercial co-operation. These commercial relations have the potential for further growth and increased percentages during the coming period, they added.

Saudi Arabia ranks first among the countries in the region with commercial relations with Abu Dhabi, a position it has maintained for more than 10 years, according to the SCAD’s report on the emirate’s trade with other countries.

Concerning the trade of non-oil goods between the two sides, the value of Abu Dhabi’s imports during the first seven months of the current year reached AED6.5 billion, equalling nine percent of the emirate’s total imports during the period from January until last July.

The value of the non-oil goods which were re-exported from Abu Dhabi to Saudi Arabia reached AED1.51 billion by the end of July, while the value of exports reached around AED1.5 billion, according to the data issued by SCAD.
