President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Tuesday with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Mustafa Madbouli to review road projects in Cairo, the presidential spokesman said.

Alaa Yousef said the commanders of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, directors of Arab Contractors Company, and some architecture experts were also among the attendees in the meeting aimed at expounding the road projects, which were meant to relieve traffic congestion in Cairo.

The projects included Rod el-Farag axis, linking northern Cairo with Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, which is planned to relieve traffic jam in the Ring Road and 26th July axis.

Sisi directed speeding up the pace of conducting Rod el-Farg axis, and paying a special attention to improve traffic conditions in all roads leading into and out of Cairo.

The meeting also reviewed designs of Galal city, which would be established on the Red Sea's Galal Hill.

The city will include a university, named after late Saudi king Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz, along with some residential, entertainment, tourist, and investment projects.

The project will make use the warm weather in this place to launch tourist projects and encouraging medical tourism.
