A ship sailed into Alexandria port on Sunday carrying 28,000 tons of wood, said spokesman for the port authority Reda el Ghandour.

The shipment was unloaded after finalizing all required procedures and examining some samples to make sure they are fit for human consumption, he added.

The vessel came from England.
