Sharjah Finance Department wins excellence award for Arab Government

The Sharjah Finance Department has won the "Excellence Award for Arab Government Achievements 2017", at a presentation ceremony organised by Pan Arab Excellence Awards Academy on Monday at Citystars Hotel, Cairo.

The department won the best e-service category in recognition of its suppliers’ and contractors’ registration portal.

A number of the department’s outstanding services were nominated for the award. This portal, which is designed for UAE-based businesses looking to work with Sharjah government departments, was selected as the winner of the e-service category. The registration e-portal for vendors and contractors is among the many excellent services provided by the SFD. It facilitates the registration procedures of approved vendors and contractors in the Sharjah Government.

Waleed Al Sayegh, General Director of the Sharjah Finance Department, said, "The Government of Sharjah is leading the way in adopting the best technologies and systems. The finance department always strives to win local, regional and international awards which mark the excellence of both the department and the emirate of Sharjah. The SFD is keen to participate in any event that may help boost its regional and pan-Arab successes. Sharjah is considered to be the first emirate to adopt its own electronic payment system and the first government in the region where people use the Emirates ID card to pay fees for departments and authorities of the Sharjah Government."
