Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal, accompanied by Prince Mohammed bin Faisal, visited Wadi Al-Dawaser province on Thursday where he inaugurated new development projects worth SR1.61 billion, as well as other projects valued at around SR1 billion.
He was received at the Wadi Al-Dawaser airport by the mayor of the province, Ahmed bin Dakheel Al-Munaifi, the mayor of Al-Saleel, Mosaed Al-Madi, and several other officials.
Later in the province, the governor met with heads and leaders of courts and different centers, and also with members of the municipal and local councils.
He was updated on the progress of several projects that are underway and the challenges facing the projects, with members of the councils making visual presentations and suggesting solutions where necessary.
Representatives of the Emirate of Riyadh Agency for Developmental Affairs, Council Secretariat in the region, and general managers of education and services departments in the area were also present at the meeting.
The governor toured parts of the King Abdulaziz Historic Palace and inaugurated the headquarters of the Office of the Council for Tourism and National Heritage.
He also attended a ceremony for the families of Wadi Al-Dawaser, held at Prince Naser bin Abdulaziz Sports City, during which the head of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University’s branches in Wadi Dawaser and Saleel. Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Saqri, delivered a speech on behalf of the families, welcoming the governor’s visit, which, he said, will speed up development to the benefit of their inhabitants.
The projects inaugurated in the province are proof of the speedy pace of development and of the government’s keenness to help develop the province and enhance its citizens’ wellbeing, Al-Saqri said.
Two national poems were recited in the presence of governor, who also viewed a visual presentation about the province titled “Al-Balad Al-Tayeb.”
Prince Faisal then inaugurated development and services projects valued at SR1.61 billion, which include projects for the Saudi Electricity Company (SR843 million), for the municipality (SR289 million), university projects (SR262 million), educational projects (SR130 million), social projects (SR80 million), and charity and endowment projects (SR6 million).
The governor laid the foundation stone for a building of the Department of Agriculture and Veterinary Units, valued at more than SR25 million.
Delivering a speech on the occasion, the governor underlined the wish to boost the wellbeing of the citizens and develop the Kingdom, and conveyed the greetings and well wishes of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, of the Crown Prince and of the Deputy Crown Prince to the people of the province.
“We must all work shoulder to shoulder” to ensure the prosperity and wellbeing of the kingdom, and “do our part for the sake our nation,” he stressed.
The governor received a commemorative gift from the governor and families of the province, as well as a copy of the book “Wadi Al-Dawaser” presented by the Committee of Tourism Development.
After the ceremony, the governor toured the Wadi Al-Dawaser General Hospital, where he checked on the level of services provided to citizens and visited a number of patients and families from the province.
In a press statement after the visit, the governor said the Thursday meetings discussed a number of matters related to the health, housing, education, industry, agriculture and water sectors, noting that the projects inaugurated and those still in the works are part of the development plan and demonstrate the leadership’s keenness to see the Kingdom progress in its entirety.
He also announced the plan for an industrial city belonging to Modon, which will play an important role in the province industry.
