Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued a presidential decree Sunday on raising customs tariffs on a number of goods.

Specifically, the decree raises tariffs from 20 percent to 40 percent on items such as certain kinds of fruits, sugar, cosmetics, clothes, doors and windows along with other products.

Also, a 40 percent tariff was placed on a number of electrical appliances, furniture and video games.
