Trade volume between Kuwait and Indonesia reached USD 917,60 million in 2011, Malaysian Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Mukhriz Mahathir Mohamad said on Wednesday. Malaysian exports to Kuwait amounted to USD 347,06 million; while the Kuwaiti exports to the Southeast Asian country recorded USD 570,54 million, the deputy minister told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). He pointed out that Kuwait is considered the most important economic partner in the Gulf region, followed by UAE, Saudi Arabia then Qatar. Five of the major Malaysian exports to Kuwait are liquefied natural gas (USD 122,97 million), natural rubber (USD 39,64 million), wooden products (USD 23,07 million), electronics and spare parts (USD 19,83 million) and non-plant oils (USD 18,33 million). The Malaysian official also name the top five Kuwait exports to Malaysia which are petroleum (USD 233,62 milllion), refined petroleum products (USD 147,87 million), chemicals and chemical products (USD 137,02 million) oil products (USD 49,90 million) and iron and steel products (USD 1,21 million).
