Chairman Dr Hilal al-Sayer

Kuwait Red Crescent Society Board Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer said on Monday the society is seeking, in coordination with national associations as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross, to facilitate family reunion for missing persons and detainees.
Al-Sayer, speaking to KUNA on sidelines of "the guidelines on family reunification for the International Federation for Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies meeting," said the international body work is no longer limited to providing food, relief and aid but extended to restoring family links for missing persons and detainees, as well as determining fate of those whose whereabouts are unknown.
He stressed that Kuwait bears responsibility to support and assist victims of disasters and armed conflicts in many parts of the world.
He added his society had set up a special office in cooperation with the General Department of the Rehabilitation Institutes to provide humanitarian services for inmates as well as providing their families with financial and social aid.
