His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, attended the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) annual ceremony, which was held to shed light on KAFD's achievements in 2015.
These achievements showcase KAFD's work mechanisms and role in enabling Jordanians to contribute to the construction process, by turning challenges into opportunities with a focus on projects and programs carried out by the fund.
The ceremony saw the launching of "Forus (opportunities) portal" in collaboration between KAFD, the Ministry of Labour and local and regional partners.
Forus is a national portal that aims to help young people build their future careers. The portal main five components are: your career counselor, your tools to build your capacity, your window to job opportunities, your opportunity to volunteer and your opportunity for an entrepreneurial project.
In a speech during the ceremony, KAFD's Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Imad Fakhoury, said programs and projects implemented by KAFD, aims to empower young people and activate their role in the comprehensive and sustainable development. These he added, fall under five main themes, namely: leadership, community awareness, capacity building, raising employment ability and All Jordan Youth Commission, which was attended by nearly 770,000 young men and women from all the Kingdom's governorates.
