Cairo - MENA
An integrated environmental monitoring plan has been prepared for the different environmental factors that could be affected by the new Suez Canal project, Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy said.
The plan will monitor aquaculture activities and any changes on the soil and air in the area and prevent the relocation of maritime organisms, the minister told MENA while marking the World Environment Day at the new Suez Canal project.
The project does not have any environmental side effects as any resulting ones are being treated as they come in, he said, adding that there is a working group that convenes biweekly to assess the environmental measures taken, he said.
