Egyptian Minister of Manpower and Immigration Nahed Ashry

Egyptian Minister of Manpower and Immigration Nahed Ashry expressed on Monday Egypt's reservations over the report of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) on employment during the Arab Labor Conference here on Monday.

The minister, who leads Egypt's delegation to the conference, said the report did not reveal the facts and dimensions of coordination among the labor unions in the Arab states.

She added that the report also turned a blind eye to the stances of the owners of Arab companies and the policies of governments and their impacts on the movement of laborers and capital among the Arab states.

Monday's public session, co-chaired by Kuwaiti Labor and Social Affairs Minister Hind Sobeih and Director General of the ALO Ahmed Loqman, reviewed a set of reports on the achievements made in the labor, media and communication fields as well as social and economic development.

The conferees also reviewed the recommendations of ALO and the International Labor Organization (ILO) as regards the labor-relevant issues.
