Egypt launched a regional calculation program for assessing social and economic differences between regions and governorates to secure an all-out database for investment, the minister of planning said Tuesday.

The program will help in drawing up investment policies, distributing investments and bridging economic and social gaps, Ashraf el Arabi said during a conference held under the theme of "regional calculations ..methodology and application."

This would help realizing sustainable, balanced and comprehensive development at the economic and social levels, he said.
