The Petroleum Ministers of Egypt, Jordan and Iraq held a meeting Thursday in Cairo to discuss boosting cooperation in petroleum industry.

A number of one-on-one meetings were held on the sideline of the session to discuss bilateral ties and joint projects, said Egypt's Minister of Petroleum Tariq el Mullah.

Chairman of Egyptian Fajr For Natural Gas Co (EFNG) and head of Jordanian Egyptian Fajr for Natural Gas joined the meetings.

The ministers agreed on establishing a new Jordanian-Iraqi oil pipeline that link Basra in Iraq with Aqaba in Jordan.

The upgrade of the infrastructure of oil industry in the area is a strategic target for the three states, el Mullah added.
