Cairo - MENA
Contacts are underway between the Egyptian government and the European Union to conclude a 22-million-euro grant agreement.
The grant will be channelled into supporting the agricultural sector in Egypt through providing junior farmers with loans to establish small and medium-sized projects.
In a press statement, the EU Commission in Cairo said the deal will be shortly inked by the French Development Agency and Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.
The grant will contribute to establishing 400 small and medium-sized agricultural projects and providing 20,000 job opportunities in Egypt.
The Egyptian Agriculture Ministry will supervise the implementation of such EU-financed agricultural projects.
