Arab labor-exporting country

Egypt is the third largest Arab labor-exporting country to the Arab world after Palestine and Syria, an economic expert said.

Speaking to MENA, Ahmed el Dabaa said Egypt is the 18th worldwide in terms of exported laborers with 3.4 million or 1.4% of migrant laborers in the end of 2013.

Egypt is not the world's largest country exporting laborers to the Arab region as thought; it is ranked the sixth, Dabaa said.

It has 2.8 million or 7.3% of the laborers in the Arab region, coming after India, Palestine, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Syria, he said.

On the other hand, Egypt is the eighth largest Arab country receiving Arab laborers, having 361,000 or 2.4% of them in the end of 2013, he added.

In this category, Saudi Arabia was the first, followed by Jordan, Lebanon and the UAE.
