Dameitta Port Authority decided to close the port on Sunday due to bad weather.

Wind velocity reached 35 knots with waves up to four meters high, spokesman for the authority Mamdouh Shiti said in press statements.

The decision was taken to maintain safety of vessels and to protect port berths.

The port will be reopened to ship traffic as soon as the weather gets better.
