Custom authorities in Borg el Arab Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle a big amount of foreign currency in violation of law of the Central Bank Of Egypt and the banking system.

The authorities searched one of the passengers traveling to Dubai and found 397,500 Saudi riyals hidden in his bag, according to an official source in the customs department on Thursday.

Legal measures were taken against the passenger, the source said.
