Chairman of the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) Atef Yacoub said Monday the protection of the national industry represents a fundamental pillar of the current stage.
Addressing a meeting of the parliamentary committee on economic affairs, Yacoub added that the consumers' interest had always been taken into account.
He stressed the need to control the market and monitor the producers so as not to profiteer consumers under any circumstances.
The parliamentary committee is currently discussing a bill, developed by MP Ashraf Omara and other lawmakers on the issuance of the consumer protection act
