The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) seeks to sign a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian ministries of agriculture and irrigation to realize sustainable development, the AOAD chief said.
AOAD Director General Ibrahim al Dekhairi made the remark during a meeting on Wednesday with Agriculture Minister Abdel Moneim Banna.
During the meeting at the ministry's HQ, the two sides tackled means of promoting bilateral cooperation in the fields of food security and agro-development.
The two sides also discussed means of rationalizing water consumption, especially during the irrigation process.
Banna underlined that the optimal use of water resources is the main plank of the ministry's 2030 strategy.
Meanwhile, al Dkhairi hailed the efforts exerted by the ministry to realize sustainable agro-development.
He underlined the importance of documenting the successful experiments carried out by the Egyptian Agriculture Ministry in order to be brought to the limelight at the coming AOAD conference.
He noted that the organization seeks to engage in partnerships with regional and international organizations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA)Organization.
