ADM inks investment contracts for constructing sports complex

Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, General Manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, has signed an agreement and several contracts with property development and investment companies.

The contracts included constructing, building and operating recreational playgrounds for workers and Musaffah, and an agreement for construction and operation of recreational playgrounds for workers, one sports complex in Musaffah, 4 service stations in the residential districts in Wathba, Rahba, Shahama and Falah.

Hamad Jassim Al Darwish signed the contract on behalf of Al Hail Holding Company LLC, while Mahmoud Jamil Ismail Al Rumahi signed for Cornerstone for Property Management LLC, and Naji Hassan Al Harathi for Tristar Properties.

Al-Hail Holding Company has launched a pioneering social charity initiative by funding the construction, management, maintenance and operation of the 3 workers’ playgrounds in Musaffah area. The other contracts were signed according to Musataha model and mutual interest between the Municipality and the private sector.

The General Manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality said, "These projects reflect the vision of the Abu Dhabi Government aimed to bolster integration & cooperation with the private sector in order to boost the comprehensive development drive. They contribute to renovating public facilities and introducing new projects capable of addressing community needs and providing modern and integrated services in a civilised manner at world-class standards. Such a drive would make attractive investment opportunities and raise growth rate in in line with Abu Dhabi Government Vision & Comprehensive Development Plan."

In the same context and in accordance with the agreements made with Al Hail Holding Company, the Company will build and construct a sports complex on land plat number P16 in Sector M24 at Musaffah, over and above its initiative for building three playgrounds for workers in Musaffah. Tristar Real Estate Company will building three service stations at residential communities of Al Wathba, Al Rahba and Al Shahama. Cornerstone Company will build a service station at Al Falah residential community.

The initiative of Al Hail Real Estate Company to build playgrounds for workers illustrates the integrated objectives of both the public and private sector towards serving the community. It constitutes a commitment from both parties to the social responsibility and improving the quality of living for an important community segment such as workers. The initiative underscores the sense of social responsibility and the intention of the private sector to support the sweeping development drive in Abu Dhabi and standing side by side with the public entities in this regard.

The operation period extends five years. The initiative involves the construction, management, operation and maintenance of three playgrounds for workers in various parts of Musaffah.

The use of these facilities will be open free of charge to workers. These playgrounds will be open for practicing multiple sports such as cricket, volleyball, basketball and football.

The project encompasses the construction of shaded areas and benches for relaxing besides the municipal market at Musaffah. The project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year (2018) at a cost of AED 6,834,776.

As part of Musataha Contract, Al Hail Holding Compnay will undertake the construction and operation of a sports complex at Musaffah designated to middle-class workers; an important community segment that has to be rewarded for its effective contribution to the overall economic development in place. Under this context, the Municipality is keen to provide services and facilities capable of improving the quality of living of this category.

The sports and recreational complexes and facilities are key elements that contribute to the quality life and health of various segments of the community, especially workers as these facilities offer a chance to recharge the physical and mental abilities and gain positive energy besides easing work pressures.

The Municipality intends to build, operate and manage an integrated sports complex for middle-class workers at Musaffah in cooperation with the private sector, a key partner in the community development.

The sports complex will be constructed in Sector 24 at Musaffah Industrial Area and is expected to start operation by 2020. The total cost of the project is AED11,442,700.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality is constructing a number of residential areas service stations to cover the Mainland. These stations are being developed and operated by the private sector.

Under this context, agreements have been signed to build four service stations to upgrade residential areas of Al Falah (Investor: Cornerstone Property Management), Al Rahba, Al Shahama, Al Wathba (Investor: Tristar Real Estate).

The service stations will provide a variety of services including carpentry, home repair, plumbing, electricity, air conditioning, tires trading, vehicle spare parts, car repair, laundry services,and others. The two companies will start construction works in the project soon and are expected to start operation in less than three years.

The cost of Al Wathba Station is AED16,581,600, Al Rahba Station is AED16,581,600 Al Shahama Station is AED16,581,600 and Al Falah Station is at an estimated cost of AED 18,831,000.
