Eight container and general cargo ships sailed into Damietta Port on Thursday, Damietta Port Authority spokesman Mamdouh el Sheety said.

Also, 11 vessels are waiting at the port's anchorage area to complete entry procedures, Sheety said.

A total of 1,645 tons of wheat are currently stored at the port's grains silo, he said.
