Carrying 44,000 tons of corn, a vessel coming from Ukraine arrived at Alexandria Port Wednesday.

The shipment was unloaded in silos ahead of examining it to make sure that it is fit for human consumption, said spokesman for the Alexandria Port Authority Reda el Ghandour.

Stevedoring operations have increased with an improve in performance at the port, the spokesman added.
