A ship sailed into Alexandria port on Thursday carrying 20,000 tons of wheat from Ukraine, said spokesman for the port authority Reda el Ghandour.

The shipment was unloaded after finalizing all required procedures and examining some samples to make sure they are fit for human consumption, he added.

The wheat shipment will be trucked from the port's silos to a number of governorates.
